International Women’s Day: Get to Know Fernanda

Mar 12, 2020 | Tips & Resources | 0 comments

In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, over the next few days, we’ll be posting interviews with each of the members of our team so you can get to know us all a little better. Today, we ask Fê a few questions.

“Alone, woman has power. Together, women have impact.”

Fernanda – Marketing & Social Media Strategist

1. Where did you grow up?

I grew up in the neighbourhood of Saúde, São Paulo, and lived there for all my life until last year – now I live in Vila Madalena, the bohemian neighbourhood of São Paulo! 🙂

2. What is your secret talent?

I’m great at finding underground songs in Youtube – I mean, really, really great. Those songs you can’t find anywhere else. Yep, those songs

3. Dream job?

I used to dream about being a writer. I even wrote some books when I was about 10 years old. Maybe I’ll try it again… Who knows! 😉

4. Your proudest accomplishment?

Being able to read The Brothers Karamazov without sleeping a single time. Yes. I DID IT!

5. What do you love most about being a WOMAN?

I think that being a woman is both a blessing and a curse. Nowadays, it’s more of a blessing than a curse. I know I don’t speak for all the women, but I just love being able to be feminine without losing my strength. Why choose only one of them if I can be both?

6. The most beautiful place you’ve ever been?

Ouch, that’s a tough one. I’ve been to a lot of beautiful places, but one of my favourites is Regent’s Canal, in London. I used to walk through the canal to work, and it was officially my favourite time of the day

7. When you’re having a bad day, you:

There are 4 possible outcomes. 1- I go to my dearest friend of all: Mr. Peanut Butter 2- I exercise like a crazy person to feel the adrenaline pump out 3- I listen to music until my ears get numb 4. I dive into a fiction book and only stop when I don’t know the difference between fiction and reality anymore. (Some would say I’m intense but IDK)

8. If you had a sign at the Women’s March it would say:

Anything you can do, I can do bleeding.

9. What do you think women are best at?

I don’t think there’s one thing women are best at. That would be generalising and I don’t like to do that. I mean, that are all kinds of woman and every one of them has her own special talent. But I do admire the strength women have to have in order to get ANYTHING they want. And I do believe that the future is female because of that

10. What’s the best way we can empower other women?

Empathy. To understand what other women are going through, for me, is the most important step

Our mission is to help the trailblazers of tomorrow, those determined to challenge the status quo, make a difference in the world, work and adventure on their own terms, and live to do what they’ve been told is impossible.

We hope you all have an amazing and empowering Women’s day, and remember to celebrate yourself and other fellow women each and every day! Be sure to read and learn every day this week about each of our own Wild Side Women here on the blog!
