International Women’s Day: Get to Know Kelsey
In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, over the next few days, we’ll be posting interviews with each of the members of our team so you can get to know us all a little better. Today, we start with our founder, Kelsey.
“Alone, woman has power. Together, women have impact.”
Kelsey – Owner & Founder
1. Where did you grow up?
I’m from Portsmouth, NH (AKA The Christmas Capital of America)
2. What is your secret talent?
Finding coupons or discounts for anything
3. Dream job?
Ancient Civilization Archeologist Explorer Anthropologist (it’s not a thing, but is now)
4. Your proudest accomplishment?
Recently? Just last week I scored a $500+ vintage Moroccan rug for $50. In general? Growing Wild Side from designing $100 websites to what it is today!
5. What do you love most about being a WOMAN?
Shattering expectations. Go ahead, underestimate us 🙂
6. The most beautiful place you’ve ever been?
Exactly ten years ago I hiked to the top of Mt. Washington (in NH) at twilight and stargazed from the peak during one of the biggest meteor showers of the time. It was 360 degrees of shooting stars, like a dream!
7. When you’re having a bad day, you:
Listen to Stevie Nicks and dance
8. If you had a sign at the Women’s March it would say:
You’re so vain, you probably think this march is about you…
9. What do you think women are best at?
Empathy and intuition, but we’re so used to doubting ourselves that we don’t realize how naturally we can intuit so much more about a situation, person, etc. than meets the eye! It’s a superpower.
10. What’s the best way we can empower other women?
By not comparing ourselves to each other. Someone else’s success does not mean your failure. Always community over competition!
Our mission is to help the trailblazers of tomorrow, those determined to challenge the status quo, make a difference in the world, work and adventure on their own terms, and live to do what they’ve been told is impossible.
We hope you all have an amazing and empowering Women’s day, and remember to celebrate yourself and other fellow women each and every day! Be sure to read and learn every day this week about each of our own Wild Side Women here on the blog!
